Ice cream dramatic play

We decided to change our dramatic play area into an ice cream and sweets shop.

Making our menu and prices.

We made ice cream play dough. Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and mint flavoured...and yes, they are scented!

Rag and Bones Puppet Theatre

We had the opportunity to work with the Rag and Bone Puppet Theatre. We watched their performance of the Wind in the Willows. We enjoyed learning about the different characters, their adventures and listening to the live music.

Click here to visit their website.

We also had a class drama workshop with them. We did some warm up exercises and acted out various nursery rhymes. We had a lot of fun working together and pretending to be different characters.

Snakes and ladders

Learning about counting, adding and subtracting. Practicing our numbers in a fun and interactive way.

Spring art

We asked: can you paint a tulip?

Telling Time

We are learning about time. We began by reading the book:

 A Second is a Hiccup
Written by: Hazel Hutchins
Illustrated by: Kady Macdonald Denton

Brainstorming why it is important to learn about time. We know there are different ways to measure time.

Exploring and manipulating clocks.

Ordering the numbers on a clock using a hula hoop.

Manipulating a clock on the Smart Board. Learning about the hour, minute and second hand.

Learning to tell time on the hour and half-hour.

Our trip to the experimental farm

Thank you to all of our fantastic parent volunteers who made our field trip possible. We had a wonderful time exploring and learning about different animals on the farm.

Writing about our trip.
