Osmo
Last week our class received a wonderful new program called Osmo. We are always looking for new and exciting ways to bring technology into the classroom.
Osmo is a game system that connects to an ipad. Students began by playing two different games. The first game students have to arrange puzzle pieces to match an on-screen shape.

The second game involves words. Students have to guess and spell on-screen hidden words by placing letter tiles. They can look to a picture for clues.
Snails
After getting our class pets and learning about fish, many of us began talking about snails. We were fascinated at how our class snail moved and hid in its shell.
We began a class inquiry. We learned about the parts of a snails body and began to discuss the function of each part i.e. they have a shell to protect them from predators and keep them safe, etc.

100th day of school celebration
On Monday, February 9th, we will be celebrating the 100th day of school. We will be participating in various math activities throughout the day. Stay tuned for pictures and updates.
