Here is an approximate outline of what a day in kindergarten looks like:
- 9:15 - The school bell rings, children line up and are ready to start their day
- 9:30-10:00 - Group lesson/ discussion on the carpet
- 10:00-11:00 - Educational learning centers (a snack table will be open throughout center time)
- 11:00-11:30 - Large group gathering (read a story, discuss wonderings/ leanings from the morning, etc.)
- 11:35-12:05 - Outside recess
- 12:15-12:25 - Book time (students look at books independently; a good way to transition from recess to lunch)
- 12:25-12:50 - Lunch time
- 1:00-1:30 - Quiet rest time
- 1:30-2:00 - Group lesson/ discussion on the carpet
- 2:00-3:00 - Educational learning centers (a snack table will be open throughout center time)
- 3:00-3:15 - End of day routine
- 3:15-3:35 - Recess
- 3:35-3:45 - Kindergarten dismissal
